Each Small Business Has Its Own Unique Needs
In A Business Phone System.

For some companies, the most important thing is an
advanced system that can perform a multitude of
functions, such as videoconferencing or inter-location
call transfers with the greatest efficiency.  Those companies whose primary concern is being able to have a professional system inexpensively will be happy to know that it is possible to do so for as little as $20 in monthly VoIP service charges.

The ideas below should help you as you seek to choose the
best small business phone system.
Best Small Business Phone System ~ How to Get the Best Deal When Choosing the Best Phone System for Your Business

Never Hesitate To Ask For A Demo Of The Small Business Phone System You Are Thinking Of Buying.

Look for companies that will allow a free or reduced trial period to see how the system works for you before buying or signing an extended contract.  Check out the phone and speaker phone quality, as well as testing the ease of access to voice-mail or other extensions.

Find out whether or not the VoIp provider you are thinking of using will require you to buy your equipment directly from them in order to use their services.  Look for those hidden equipment costs, as they may quickly cost you more in the long run than you will save on the service itself.  If you can buy your equipment from a different company, or even get used or refurbished equipment, it can save you a lot of money.

Find out what type of voice-mail system your provider will use.  Because of the constant changes in telephone and voice-mail systems, it is vital to make sure that your system is widely compatible, so that you don't have to keep switching systems.
The VoIP Service Plan That You Choose Determines The Quality Of Your Overall System.

Your company's needs will determine what you look for in a service plan.  Among the features offered by those VoIP services that specialize in businesses are call transfers, call monitoring, multiple extensions and video conferencing using the computer monitor and a headset.  There are also other advanced business VoIp features that might be of use to some companies.  Examples of these are media phones (these allow you to track call time and transfer incoming calls using a touch screen) and a special mobile VoIP feature that allows for taking calls from a mobile phone (without cell phone minute charges) by connecting to the Internet.
Phone System Costs Are Broken Down Into Roughly Two Categories: These Are The Cost Of The Service Plan And The Cost Of Any Equipment You Might Need.

To get an accurate picture of your actual costs, you have to consider both together.  Simple plans that offer only very basic features such as a single line with several extensions, voice-mail and caller ID can start as low as $20/month.  Plans with more advanced features can run into the hundreds of dollars each month.  With some plans you will have to buy their equipment: phones, VoIP adapters, headsets, etc.  Other plans allow you to use equipment that you already have, or get the equipment from another source.  When you consider a service, you need to look for a breakdown of costs, which will need to include the monthly fees for service, installation, maintenance and repairs [if offered] and equipment costs.
